Have Yourself A Posh Picnic

June 28th, 2007

Gregoire RestaurantLove fast food? Check out Gregoire, a little shack in Berkeley that does made-to-order lunch or dinner packaged in cardboard boxes that cater to gourmands on the run. Snap up the crispy potato puffs with southern fried chicken drumsticks the next time you need grub for a p.m. picnic. We also like the sautéed lamb with spring garlic and balsamic vinegar on ciabatta for lunch.

New Sugar bowl and milk pitcher from Danish Menu

June 27th, 2007

Menu Black ContourThis new Sugar bowl and milk pitcher from Danish Menu looks like two abstract birds that have landed on the table. Designer Pernille Vea has clearly gathered inspiration from nature for the new generation of the design company Menu’s popular porcelain series, Black Contour. The milk pitcher holds a half-litre, and the sugar bowl conceals an accompanying sugar spoon that is held in place by the lid.All of the set’s pieces are made of porcelain of the highest quality, fired at 1320 degrees Celsius, ensuring strength, durability, and an easy to clean surface. The glazing is acid-free, and therefore does not change colour. Furthermore, the glazing does not contain lead or cadmium.

More Choco Delights

June 25th, 2007

Recchiuti1Here’s one for the why-didn’t-someone-think-of-this-sooner file: Key Lime Apples. The crisp, dark chocolate-coated fruits help to usher in the dog days of summer (smile!). C’mon, there’s no better way to fit a serving of juicy, vitamin-packed fruit into your day. Tear into these with caution in the company of friends (translation: tote toothpicks), as they tend to get wedged between the teeth, as apples often do.

Feel Like Chicken Tonight?

June 22nd, 2007

Earthnvine Apricot Dijon TarragonGive your grilled chicken dishes, or even your steamed carrots and asparagus, a little TLC with this Apricot Dijon Tarragon Grilling and Finishing Sauce. It’s tangy and boasts ingredients such as Dijon mustard, fragrant tarragon and silky apricots. This means it pairs well with roasted red potatoes and blends with a little cream to create a mix that should inevitably be heated and poured over Chilean sea bass.
