Recycling and design boosts at Stockholm Furniture Fair

DesignboostA few weeks ago we’ve been visiting Stockholm Furniture Fair in Älvsjö, Stockholm. In collaboration with the Stockholm Furniture Fair Designboost was staging an event themed around the concept of Sustainable Design. Designboost’s mission is to create a platform where people can meet to discuss and challenge the meaning of design through workshops, talks, exhibitions and other media. The Stockholm Furniture Fair also invited designer Stephen Burks and his studio Readymade Projects to develop a craft based installation to present the work of his recent workshops around the world and his on-going collaboration in the developing world as a consultant to Aid To Artisans. Stephen envisions this installation as a kind of ‘township’ styled elongated wagon fabricated in wood and various recycled materials with shelving/surfaces to display the craft objects he’s designed throughout his travels.
