Michael Young USB Bracelet

December 23rd, 2005

Usb1Yeah we have a Shuffle that we could use to store data on… But why would you want to do that, when you could wear your data on your sleeve…
Michael Young brought us the wonderful PXR-5 a couple weeks ago (by the way, you might want to look out for a Valentines Day edition) and today he brings us his ingenious USB bracelet.
Sleek in white, holds 256megs, enough room for a bunch of word docs, a few images and some tunez… So no matter what punch you can put on a stick, it will only be a stick and not this cool bracelet made out of soft rubberized plastic, that feels like velvet and that is ideal if you want to swap some files while you are on the go.
Either wear it around your arm or your belt or your tote… Endless possibilities… But Michael made them in a limited edition especially for us and we don’t have too many, so as usual: act quickly!

What was in the box: 256 MB white USB bracelet
Price: $60 / 49€

The cableyoyo

December 22nd, 2005

Cableyoyo1We all know the scene: Cable chaos on our desk, under our desk, in our bag, behind our flat screen, do I need to go on? Didn’t think so…
Rescue shows up as a handsome little contraption called the cableyoyo. So simple, it’s beyond smart… wrap your iPod, camera, phone charger, you name it cable around the Yoyo, have one end stick out, tuck the other one in and off you go, no more mess. But wait, there’s more: Stick the center to your laptop, back of your screen, or even directly onto your plug and you’ll be really organized!
Need we say more except it is so hot that we can’t find enough cables to organize? Comes in a box of three in crisp clean iPod white.

What was in the box: 3 cableyoyos in white
Price: $14 / 18€

Wine Knot Wine Rack

December 21st, 2005

Wineknot1This one isn’t for the oenophiles, but rather the occasional wine drinkers/wannabe oenophiles - the majority of us out there. The Wine Knot Wine Rack doesn’t attempt to hold your entire well-organized wine cellar, but it handsomely does the trick for a few nice bottles in your kitchen. Your weekly choices are within easy reach and looks absolutely fab on your counter or shelf rather than standing on end off in some dark corner.
The Wine Knot is made of molded plywood in birch and dark oak and has metal legs, so its graceful look will perfectly complement any modern space. Holds six bottles – sorry, no magnums - and sits about 14″ by 14″. This one comes in very pretty packaging as well, so it’s ideal for a special gift.

What was in the box: One fully assembled Wine Knot Wine Rack
Price: $95 / 79€

Little Something in Gold

December 20th, 2005

Littlesomething1We just love precious metals - they always enhance the overall quality of virtually any item. The gem we have today will definitely raise the frequency of every woman’s sensual adventures.
Sleek, silent and waterproof, this gold vibrator (yes vibrator — your eyes aren’t fooling you) from is sheer decadence; and according to W magazine, Esquire, and Women’s Wear Daily: Young Hollywood’s favorite new accessory. Why gold? Well, besides being decadent, its non-porous surface holds different temperatures making it perfect for those thrill-seeking souls who like to experiment. The vibrator’s 5.25″ long shaft is tuned to a virtually silent frequency designed to provide that deep, resonant sensation we all love. Since it’s completely waterproof, you can take it in the tub, the pool, or chill it in the fridge. It can also be personalized with laser etched text that wraps around its base - up to 35 characters - making it the perfect gift for that special girl in your life.

Designer Emulation Kit: Mini Lucellino

December 19th, 2005

Dek1Since we are great devotees of classic interior design and love to own furniture and accessories from many renowned designers, you can imagine how delighted we were to come across Mark McKenna’s Designer Emulation Kits (DEK) from an artist that created some of our favorite lighting fixtures.
Similar to the miniature chairs from Vitra, Mark’s DEK’s are meant to pay tribute to great modern designers of our time. Take one of these small, do-it-yourself inventions (a computerized circuit board, to be precise), snap off its template, assemble and just plug it into a nine-volt battery. Voila! A simple path to gorgeous light!
Here we present Ingo Maurer’s Lucellino, the first of a set of four. We don’t have too many, so please act quickly and we’ll make sure you have yours in time for holiday gift giving.

What was in the box: Lucellino Designer Emulation Kit – (batteries not included)
Price: $25 / 20€

Maloo

December 16th, 2005

Maloo1-1We’ve had enough of neoprene laptop cases. Ours has got to be either bulletproof or extremely good-looking and secure – a lot like Charles…
Well, out with the first option, since Berlin designer Katja Hettler and architect Jula Tüllmann introduce the beautiful Maloo. They’ve come up with a laptop case for 15″ Macs or Vaios made entirely out of 100% wool felt, and you’re likely to see this clever cocoon take off fast. They launched it just the other day and we pounced on it. Our good friends over at coolhunting.com dubbed them “security blankets” and we can only nod our head in agreement; with strategically placed Velcro straps, they fit snugly around your laptop and stay in place. Unfolded, the Maloo not only makes a protective mat and reduces heat emitted by the battery, but also provides a convenient mousepad making it incredibly useful when you are in some odd location with no smooth surface nearby.
The sleeve comes in bright orange so you’ll always know where to find it. We think it snugs up our 15” just right.

What was in the box: Orange felt laptop cover
Price: $75 / 75€

Marware Hot Pink Nano Wallet

December 15th, 2005

Nanowallet1If we didn’t have Nano’s already, we’d get them now just to have this wallet. Drop-dead gorgeous, this little baby holds all we need: cash, credit cards and our Nano - everything else is unnecessary, isn’t it?
This elegant, well-designed full grain leather case is so “impossibly small” you can pretty much carry it everywhere. It’s so great that there’s no need to tell you more than this: it measures 3.5″ 2.5″.
The beauty is that we’re currently the only place you can find this jewel since everyone else is “out of stock,” so go ahead and click BUY IT NOW! – what are you waiting for?
(Special note to guys: this is the perfect present for your partner who probably bought you that Michael Young watch you wanted.)

Metro Dog Bowl

December 13th, 2005

Metro1We promised we’d bring you finds for our favorite pooch, and here we go…
A funny tale a bout this item, unquestionably an ideal rugged dog bowl: stainless steel inside, covered in pearlescent, rubberized plastic with soft rubber feet that prevent slipping, with a slanted opening and a grip hole. The Metro is amazingly practical (holds 2 - 3 cups), elegant and simple. The slightly tilted setting makes it easier for dogs to eat and it’s a lot tidier, too. Now where is the funny part? Well, we didn’t know it was for our dogs when we first received them as a gift, and were excited about having new bowls for the kitchen! Just when we were about to throw out all our old work bowls, we noticed the box – Metro Dog Bowl…..but the choice is still yours on how you want to use it.
Metro has just been launched here in the US and hope we’re the first to offer it to you!

What was in the box: One pearlescent Metro bowl
Price: $30 / 25€

Honeycomb Lampshade

December 12th, 2005

Lampshade1We all know how light changes our mood and can positively alter perception. This lampshade is a truly different approach to lighting and leaves the old, tired lampshades in the dark.
This delicate design opens like a book into a honeycomb pattern held together with small clips in the back; once unfolded, it presents a soft yet very stable paper lamp that illuminates its own aura of architecture.
Truly a global lamp, it comes without any wiring or bulbs, so all you’ll need to do is add a bulb and a cord, and you are ready to go. When it’s set, the wonderfully warm light will illuminate the entire lamp – gorgeous, unique and very special indeed.
The Honeycomb Lampshade is brand new and currently only available through Charles & Marie.

What was in the box: One honeycomb lampshade, 18″ high and 12″ wide
Price: $30 / 30€
