Here’s a cute addition to your kitchen. Each wooden cutting board comes with a different laser engraved illustration that is positioned according to the natural grain of the wood creating a whimsical little scene.
Prior to the engraving process each board is evaluated by the designers to determine the ideal position for any of the 6 different illustrations and which will have the best fit. Then they are hand positioned and sent to the laser engraving process after which they are oiled and ready to ship.
This way not a single board will be identical in terms of the positioning of the illustration, creating a beautiful presentation when they are used together. The wood used for the board is Acacia and it is simply oiled.
Size: 9″ x 3″ x .6″ (22 x 34 x 1,5 cm)

OK, you didn’t like yesterday’s SDJ – the First Aid Fashion Bandage – and we can live with that, but today’s product, oh la la…
Christof Ronge - a grad from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena who designed snowboards for Burton and skates for K2 in his previous life - had a tiny booth here in Frankfurt, and presented his latest line of iPod covers and for today we’ve secured his amazing, awesome, simply stunning Nano cover.
This is the softest leather you can imagine, a rich and intense dark brown, embossed with a wonderful Paisley-esque patern, finished with the highest standards in leather work you can imagine. This piece is handmade by a group of 5 craftsmen who have been working in the trade for over 50 years! (not combined…) and comes in a gorgeous box with a certificate, etc.
We couldn’t stop playing with the leather because it’s so so soft – and we know, that once you get your hands on it you won’t stop playing with it either. This is probably one of the best SDJ’s we had so far and we are very happy to have a couple handfuls… For all of you with larger iPod’s, we’ll try to secure some of those covers as well, but we can’t promise anything…
Price: $100 / 79€

Wow, these bags are simply stunning. We found them yesterday from a tiny design studio in Hamburg Germany – and they manufacture some of the coolest bags we’ve seen in a long time. Every single piece is unique and made out of the sails of high speed sailing yachts in the best quality and craftsmanship we’ve seen in a long time for bags of this type.
Every sail they get is evaluated thoroughly to make a unique and great looking bag - there wasn’t a single bag we wouldn’t have enjoyed for ourselves… The cover is held in place by a solid piece of velcro and it includes a laptop compartment and a place for your cell phone amongst other smart separations – that are all enclosed by high quality zippers for maximum organization. The carry belt is a tube belt, almost four inches wide, either in a matching or a contrasting color with a corrosion resitant steel closure with some really nice engravings. The max length can be extended beyond 8 feet (240 cm) – not that you need it, but it’s good to know you could…
In our opinion this will be the follow up bag to the globally successful Freytag bags – just much better quality…
Size: 12″x 16″x 5″ (30 x 40 x 12 cm)
Price: $180 / 139€

If you’re a profound lover of fine teas, you’ve probably been feeling a bit neglected lately, what with so few places to delight in the exquisite art. Wouldn’t it be easier to become a coffee aficionado—the type who can get a fix at any ubiquitous coffee joint? In a word, yes. But despite their magnificent seeded muffins, Starbucks will always elicit a groan from the truest tea enthusiast who wants more than a packaged tea bag (the equivalent of instant coffee).
Gamil brings good news. They designed a tantalizing Teastick which you may recall from SDJ a couple month’s ago (plenty of you have sent us e-mails requesting one of your own). This totally unique utensil allows you to scoop your favorite loose tea, slide it into your beloved teacup and, as the subtle flavors slowly darken the water, savor the marvelous fragrances released by fresh leaves. We’ll say it once more, with passion: fresh leaves. Since it’s so easy to use, the Teastick is the perfect office companion. When you’re done, slide it open again, empty the leaves and go for round two. This is tea lover’s bliss…

If you are looking for a small little light that creates a big and beautiful impression, you’ve found it.
Sam Johnson – you undoubtedly know him from the fabulous ‘Light Reading’ lamp –presented this small yet wonderful idea as a prototype at ICFF just a few weeks ago and now it is in full production mode and we have our hands on the first batch…
Beautiful black brass is chemically etched in the shape of trees, that are then bent up to create a cute little nest for any standard tea candle.
Just drop it right in the middle and see a beautiful setting appear right in front of your eyes.
These come to your doorstep absolutely flat and make a marvelous present to anybody who likes the natural flicker of a candle…
Price: $25 / 20€

Here’s a smart and elegant kitchen contraption: Three stunningly simple holders for any tea kettle or coffee pot.
Made out of elegant Wenge wood and Aluminum this is one of those simple ideas that make go: ugh, why didn’t I think of this. Depending on the width of your kettle, you simply move the separate pieces apart or together – however you need it…
The center piece holds the standard tea light but isn’t quite as high.
What can we say, except that – we love it…

We are totally hooked on yoga mats now and here’s another set of fun mats, that add some sparkle (literally) to your daily routine…
These mats here combine stunning printing technology with quirky humor. They are printed in metallic and pearlescent colors and are beautifully vibrant and rich in color. They also have a patent pending lamination layer so the wonderful color doesn’t come off…
But the fun starts with the words on the mat: The gold mat sports a lot of bling, the brown mat reads chocolate and the silver mat focusses on me, me, me
The mats are the usual 68″ x 24″ (162 x 61 cm) and 1/4″ thick, so no adjustment there…
Price: $65 / 60€

The Picasso Morph Pad. At first sight nothing but a tall (1000 sheets) stack of paper – that will probably last you forever (well almost). But unleash your creativity and turn it into the most amazing sculpture you can think of by simply twisting and turning it any way you want to. Don’t like the result? No worries, twist and turn again. And voilá: A new sculpture… Combining it with a Picasso inspired illustration, and the master of the unusual point of view starts to get even more unusual…
Don’t want to play with it? No worries, simply have it sit on your desk, as a tall – very tall – stack of paper…
Size: 2″ x 3″ x 5″ (5 x 7,5 x 13 cm)
Price: $19 / 16€
