Ember

September 29th, 2006

Ember JimmyjaneJust in time for the cold season, when we all like to cuddle up and keep warm, Ember comes along and makes the whole process of cuddling up - hmm, how should we put it - a whole lot more enticing.
Ember is one hot, slick and revolutionary candle. Or is it a massage oil? Well actually it’s both: The candle is scented with three delicious mood enhancing natural oil blends that easily put you in the mood - but if you want to up the ante, and we know you want to - snuff out the flame and drizzle the wax on a very lucky someone. When it melts, the secret formula transforms into a slow absorption, high-slip massage balm…
Made of clean burning, natural paraffin-free soy wax the wax has a low melting point and is body-friendly. It immediately cools down to body temperature after it is snuffed out, not causing any harm to your soft skin.
Candle dimensions: 3″ x 3″ x 5″ (8 x 8 x 13 cm) Each candle offers 60 hours of burn time - not counting the afterglow. Oh, and it also nourishes and hydrates the skin, but that’s probably not what you are worried about now…
HABANERO + GRAPEFRUIT inspires and provokes.
GINGER + DATE entices with rich, sweet notes.
LYCHEE + LAPSANG explores the exotic.
Price: $48 / 48€

Wonderful Wooden Cutting Boards

September 28th, 2006

Holzbrettchen1Here’s a cute addition to your kitchen. Each wooden cutting board comes with a different laser engraved illustration that is positioned according to the natural grain of the wood creating a whimsical little scene.
Prior to the engraving process each board is evaluated by the designers to determine the ideal position for any of the 6 different illustrations and which will have the best fit. Then they are hand positioned and sent to the laser engraving process after which they are oiled and ready to ship.
This way not a single board will be identical in terms of the positioning of the illustration, creating a beautiful presentation when they are used together. The wood used for the board is Acacia and it is simply oiled.
This is the smaller version of the one we brought you a couple weeks ago, which we’ve received so many requests for that it can now be found here continuosly.
Size: 6.1″ x 9″ x .4″ (15,5 x 23 x 1 cm)
Price: $20 / 14€

Brand New Elf Craft Bracelet

September 27th, 2006

Elfcraft4The Elfcraft leather bracelet was one of our favorite Summer SDJ’s, and it continues to be a favorite amongst many of our customers. So on our way back home from Europe we stopped by their eclectic studio to check out the latest new models they’ve created.
The new pieces are more elaborate than what we saw in the summer and use more detailed silver work and more details like the pictured Lilies on the closure. We chose one addition to the existing bracelet, this time it’s much thinner and is supposed to be worn either with the existing bracelet or with a second thin one.
Alternatively – and that’s what we are doing – you can wear it with your favorite watch and the matching brown bracelet…
Anyway, we think it’s pretty hot, and whether you already have one of their previous versions, or this is you first one, it will definitely not go unnoticed…
By the way, drop us an email if you’d be interested in a much more elaborate version as well and we’ll see whether we can get our hands on some of their bolder models…
Size: For guys or for girls
Price: 149 / 119€

Wallet 2.0

September 26th, 2006

Wallet2.0 1Looking for the latest in what wallets can look like? Or how they might work? Well, then have a look at this one:
It looks nothing like a wallet at first glance, except maybe that the proportions are similar. But Wallet 2.0 is made out of very soft silicone, available in 5 colors – nothing too groundbreaking so far – and comes with a patent pending system of refill sheets that allow you to be really organized (at least in your wallet). Think of the refill sheets as a manila folder in your wallet, giving you immediate access to the item you are looking for.
Put your most used sheet in front and simply slide it out with your thumb. It’s so soft that you can wear it in your front pocket or your pack pocket and with the 2 strap holes on the side you can easily attach it to any lanyard.
Designed by Steve Gates in early 2006 after he sat around with some of his web 2.0 buddies in the Silicon Valley, realizing that whilst the web is evolving, and improving, many ‘profane’ items haven’t been changed or improved in years. That’s when he started to think about a new type of wallet, which - in our opinion - turned out to be a very cool contraption. Keep it coming Steve!
Size 3.6″ (9 cm) x 4.5″ (11,5 cm) x 0.8″ (2,2 cm)
Colors: Pure White, Sky Blue, Night Black, Grass Green, Neon Red
Price: $30 / 30€

Gorgeous Helen

September 22nd, 2006

Gorgeous Helen 2If you are looking to add a dash of uniqueness to your table decoration, you might want to invite Gorgeous Helen over…
No, Gorgeous Helen is not the latest interior decorator from Sweden, but the newest product by Anke and Katrin from Dekoop in Hamburg that was just launched at the Tendence Design Fair a few weeks ago. We presented it already right after the fair, but received so many emails requesting a re-run that we’ll happily present it again…
Made out of fragile parchment, each set contains 3 different shades with cute and whimsical designs that are printed in a faint white. All you need to do is take them out of the package, roll them up, drop a candle into a wine glass and add the lampshade. That’s it. Instantly the white pattern is transformed to a darker shade (as if it were a shadow) and a wine glass is turned into a sweet miniature lamp.
Have an enchanted evening…
Price: $20 / 12€

Little Joseph

September 21st, 2006

Qubus Little Joseph2We’ve met Maxim Velcovsky many times this year, but we were really looking forward to meeting him in Paris because of the new work that was going to be released…
Our favorite is undoubtedly the little Joseph candle holder, which starts out bald and after time, changes his appearance. We had a great time playing with the wax and how it would create a ‘look’ and a ‘hairstyle’…
Size: 4.7″ x 3.1″ (12 x 8 cm)
Price: $75 / 60€
