It’s ok, you can admit it, we all have stuff lying around somewhere… Pictures from last summer, a bunch of new ties, entertainment system products (read contollers and remotes) and if you are a girl, probably lots of shoes, a couple bags and most likely a good selection of cosmetics as well…
Lilian Adler from Denmark was very well aware of the issues that go hand in hand with having stuff all over the place and she had stacked her favorite new finds – shes a shoe fanatic – into random boxes, somewhere in the back of her closet…
But being an experienced designer she didn’t like the appeal of the random boxes, so she got to work, got her business partner Søren Berg involved and came up with what we think is the prettiest utility box we have ever seen…
Made out of finest quality paper ware from the UK, they come in fantastic colors and designs, delivered flat in a plastic sleeve, and when you need them, you take them out, pop them open and you are ready to start adding some style to your newly organized life…
They can be stacked up to 10′ high fixed with a screw through the center, or you can have them arranged flat so they resemble a narrow shelf, in any case, once you’ve popped them together all you need to do is add the appropriate dust lid and your woot is save and secured…
We have a whole lot more images here.
Just in case you are wondering, the dimensions are: 18″ x 11.5″ x 3″ (47 x 30 x 15 cm)
Colors:
Black – Gold Interior
Bright Red - Primrose Interior
Cabaret – Primrose Interior
Candy Pink - Orange Interior
Flowers – Primrose Interior
French Miami – Gold Interior
Pistachio - Orange Interior
Price: $26 / 20€

Yesterday’s Little Joseph was a clear hit with you, so we decided to bring you a couple more of Qubus’ fabulous products…
So today’s Soupe is another candle holder, appropriately named Lucifer, and it literally is a candle ‘holder’. Shaped like a hand and made out of exquisite porcelain, this beautiful piece plays with the notion of what traces the wax will leave as well. But unlike yesterday’s Little Joseph, the effect is a slightly different one, as the wax will form in the palm of the hand and then develop from there…
Luckily it’s not our hand…
Size: 6.6″ x 7.8″ x 2.3″ (17 x 20 x 6 cm)
Price: $55 / 42€

Always on the look for unusual products for you, we have something from our friends over at Qubus for you to start the week off right!
Our first thought when we saw Little Joseph for the first time was: ‘What an unsusual candle holde’ … but it was pretty much immediately followed by: ‘oh how smart!’ The Little Joseph candle holder, continuously changes over time and is a fascinating object to play with. It starts out pretty bald and some say ‘bland’, but over time, changes his appearance. Depending on what color wax you use, Joseph might have dark ‘hair’ or be white. Depending on how much you play with it, you can actually start ‘designing’ his hairstyle, or simply turn him into a bum by letting the wax simply run down…
We had a great time playing with Little Joseph and it is most certainly a conversation starter when a couple of them are placed on the table…
Size: 4.7″ x 3.1″ (12 x 8 cm)
Price: $75 / 60€

Oh, one more thing: 2.75″ (7cm) diameter and 3.1″ (8 cm) high…

You know that we have a knack for products that are useful and beautiful at the same time, and today’s product is a prime example:
A doorstop – yes there are many out there, and they come in all weird shapes. But we like it simple and elegant and that’s exactly what Ed Carpenter’s design is. A solid piece of oak, with a tiny dash of color to add some life. What more do you need?
Come to think about it, nothing really…
Colors: Blue, Dark Brown, Cream, Military Green, Green, Pink
Price: $12 / 12€

Finally!!! Is all we can say!
Sometimes we just find a contraption where we wonder why nobody has thought about this earlier… Case in point were the Knicks cable holders last week, that you really liked… Today we have another one of those items that should be a mandatory accessory with every new laptop you purchase.
Cool feet are 4 small ‘feet’ with suction cups at the end. Or actually, they are suction cups in the size of small ‘feet’ that attach to the bottom of your laptop, allowing the heat to be dispersed properly. Why is that smart you might ask? Well for starters angled keyboards are more ergonomic than a flat one and a raised laptop protects your furniture from any heat damage… But the kicker is that when laptops release their excess heat, they become faster! And isn’t speed something we all want in our machines?
The feet come in two heights, giving you a multitude of options to come up with the right height for your use. And if you need to move, no problem, they are suction cups remember? Just pop them off and into the provided pouch that comes with them…
Pretty cool… pun intended…
Price: $13 / 13€

We are sure you remember the game battleships from high school, or maybe from college, the ideal distraction for boring classes. It was quiet and discreet and a quick little challenge…
Well today you’ve left college and high school behind and yet you come across the same boring moments. At uncle Ted’s birthday party last year, or your new neighbor’s housewarming shin ding a couple weeks ago – whatever the occasion, a pack of 100 battleship napkins go a long way and create enough buzz to get the conversations starting…
Another great idea by Barnaby Barford and André Klauser, who will also be featured in tomorrow’s Soupe!
Size: 6.6″ x 6.6″ (17 x 17 cm)
Price: $17 / 17€

This is one of our favorite little lamps around! Designed by Ed Carpenter while he was still at the Royal College of Art this little acrylic pigeon is attached to a wooden clothespin and can either be attached to the wall or be used as a ‘floor lamp’ perched on the ground by threading the cord through it…
The 25W bulb provides just enough light to subtly enhance every environment that needs a special little touch making it a perfect contender as a night-light or to add some character to your guest room…
8″ x 4″ x H9″ (21 x 10,5 x 23 cm)
Colors: green, grey, gold, orange, pink, yellow, white
Price: $95 / 75€

Oh you all know how much we adore the absolutely uber sexy laptop sleeves by Red Maloo in Berlin, all hand made out of industrial grade wool felt. They have been on our faves list since day one literally and now – finally – they are available in 6 super hot new colors!
But before we get too excited a word or two about the sleeves: Designed and handmade by Katja Hettler and Jula Tüllmann in Berlin, they were inspired by Jula’s stay in Japan, where she first came up with the idea for them. Each sleeve is made out of 100% wool felt with strategically placed Velcro straps to ensure that they fit snugly around your laptop. The good guys over at coolhunting.com dubbed them‚ security blankets’ and we have to agree, not just to they protect your dearly beloved, they also protect you from the heat that nasty battery gives off, and if you unfold it, you actually have an convenient integrated mousepad as well… Which – as every road warrior will admit – is extremely useful when you’re in need of a smooth surface and there isnt a clean desk in sight…
Because size always matters, let’s spend a moment on that topic: The sleeves are designed for Mac’s, but with the abundant amount of different Mac sizes out there, it is highly likely that you will find a size that will fit your PC as well.
So go ahead, embrace a bit of color in a usually black or gray domain!
Price: $110 / 79€

We had this great great gadget just a couple days ago and it was hugely popular. But we received so many requests for a single and not a triple set, so we considered it and here you go: This time as singles:
A small little clip – made out of metal, with a matte acrylic holding device, that attaches to the edge of your table and extends out by about half an inch. At the end is a small little round opening, that allows you to easily pull a cable through it. When you don’t need the cable – i.e. take you laptop with you, or your iPod, or anything that has a plug on a cable (the options are countless) - the plug gets ’stuck’ in the opening, which prevents it from falling down. Which means, when you return, you dont have to get down on your knees and try to fiddle the plug behind your table, it falling down a million times and you getting aggravated…
Smart eh? Yeah we thought so too! It comes in two sizes, small is for thinner tables up to 1″ (2,5 cm) in thickness and large is for a table up to 1.75″ (4,5 cm) in thickness. So get ready to organize that cable chaos on your desk…
Colors: Sapphire Blue, Neon Green, Emergency Orange, Velvet Red, Snow White
Price: $11 / 8€
