And once again our favorite commuter mug is back in stock. You constantly buy all of the pieces we are stocking making it sell out on a regular basis, but a new shipment just arrived today, so you can start all over again and get as many as you like, we have plenty!
‘I’m Not A Papercup’ doesn’t really need any explanation now, does it? It’s the ubiquitous coffee mug that we have most likely all had in our hands, but this time it is made of double walled porcelain and the plastic lid is replaced by reusable silicone. It is the perfect accessory for every tea lover, because it is made out of porcelain, so no aluminum to stain the flavor of your subtle teas. So much fun and such good news for the environment. Why use a throw away cup that will only end up in landfill, when you can use this over and over and over again? It is truly the perfect solution for all you commuting coffee and tea lovers out there! Any thing else? Oh right, dimensions: 3.5″ (9 cm) diameter; 6″ (15 cm) tall.
Price: $20 / 18€

So we are in the middle of summer and we thought it would be a great idea to remind you of one of the quintessential summer additions we have in stock.
When you travel you naturally take your camera. You snap away, a couple pics here, some there and then one of all of you. Ooops. So you find something to balance your camera on – it’s a wee bit too tall. Or it’s too low. It might also be too crooked, or too … fill in the blank. You most certainly know what we are talking about. Been there, done that. Well who hasn’t?
Today’s Soupe provides a solution to the issue that’s probably as old as the camera itself: What to use as a tripod when you don’t lug a tripod around? It’s easy, this little Bottle Cap Tripod slides onto the vast majority of national and international water caps, the universal adaptor fits onto pretty much every camera and the little hinge allows the little baby to swivel gently. That’s it you are done. Whether it’s the family picture, that special night shot or anything else that requires a tripod, the solution is in your pocket from now on.
Anything else left to explain? We think not… Genius!
Price: $10 / 10€ plus shipping

A lot of you seemed to have missed this little fella, so here it is again for all of you who missed the Soupe from last week:
Sometimes having an office in SoMA is helpful, especially when you have to head over to the San Francisco Gift Fair where we spent a couple of hours yesterday. Trust us, it was – how should we put this – awful? That pretty much sums it up, at some point we were ready to just run out, but the rule says, you can’t leave until you haven’t seen even the most remote corner. So there we were trotting along when we stumbled upon this little beauty. Lo and behold in the furthest corner, tucked away was Pinky Tree.
At first we were chuckling, then we had a closer look, well we were sort of urged by Valerie, one of the owners to see what it was all about, then we started smiling, placed our order and here it is. Probably the worlds smallest living plant phone charm, keychain accessory, Tamagotchi, call it what you want that we ever saw. What is it? It’s a teeny weeny cactus in a teeny weeny glass jar. Sitting in real soil, with little holes in the bottom so you can water it once a month and see it grow.
Pretty hilarious was what we thought, but in fact those little guys really do grow if dealt with properly, Succulents and Cacti only need very little water and at that size they need even less. And if treated properly they can really grow up to become, well, grown up Cacti… We saw Valerie’s little friend and she had hers for a year now and is getting ready to take it out and plant it into a pot because it pretty much doesn’t fit in the little tube anymore.
Need we say more? Nah, that should suffice. Well maybe we’ll just tell you that you can’t get them anywhere else online in the US except here…
Colors: Pearlito, Pilly, Smoothy, Sphera
Price: $11 / 10€ plus shipping

We had this unusual contraption as a Soupe a couple days ago and it caused quite a stir and we received a ton of emails asking for a re-run, so here you go, back by popular demand! When it comes to unusual food contraptions, we are complete suckers and give everything a try. Case in point, this fun set of little buddha moulds. 4 little buddhas come is each set, each a different color, and you can use them for anything from ice cream, to mousse, or pudding. We’ve even tried it with Jello and boy does that look fun… So if you are anything like us and like to have fun in the kitchen, then these little guys might just be what you are looking for…

We had this fabulous product as a Soupe just before Mother’s Day, but it was sold out literally within 2 hours – we simply didn’t order as many as we should have. Well, now they are back, hundreds, sitting in the warehouse, ready to go. So here’s to a great way to start the day - a graceful porcelain cup that adorns you with a sparkling solitaire diamond ring when you pick it up!
But wait, that’s not all, here’s the best part - The 2-Carat Cup is packed in an elegant oversize jewelry box, so when you present it as a gift, all you see is the ring! A great cup, a terrific gift (think Mother’s Day), a charming social expression — this one’s got it all. White porcelain with gold or platinum glaze and clear sparkling Swarovski crystal, individually boxed with removable wrapper.
Color: Gold, Platinum
Price: $18 / 12€

It’s pretty much summer everywhere, in some places more than in others, and we thought it’s the perfect time to bring you some Flat Flowers again. We had them as a Soupe in February, but it seems just as good an idea right now and because we just received a whole bunch in stock yesterday there’s not even a wait…
Never heard of flat flowers? Well, read on then: Designed by Suseela Gorter in the Netherlands, these are vinyl stickers that are printed with images of flower bouquets on both sides. All you have to do is stick them onto your windows and voila – they’ll put a smile on your face. We especially like the fact that there is no adhesive involved as the vinyl sticks by static cling. Oh and they are a good size as well, not too big, not too small, roughly a foot (30 x 30 cm) and a bit, perfect size for our small windows!
Now if only the temperature would change as well…
Color: Chrysanthemum, Poppies, Red Poppies, Rose
Price: $18 / 12€

This was one of your favorite SDJ’s over the last weeks and it’s finally back in stock again, so get your hands on this fun little contraption for all the salad lovers out there: A set of salad servers that come with their own little holding cup. Nothing special there so far, but the fact that the servers are green and look like leaves and the pot looks like a ‘real’ flower pot gives the whole combination quite a striking visual appeal.
Anything else? No, not really, just plain fun actually!
Price: $30 / 24€
