We have just come across the new British women’s label “Not Bad For a Girl“. The name already sounds great and they just started releasing first tee’s and now for the winter season also some very nice hoodies. The collection is targeted at the sporty woman of today that clearly has more in her plans then just cleaning the house and cooking. Well worth checking out.
Common Projects is a rather new footwear brand based in Milan and NYC. Their sneakers stay very simple and minimalist and this classic style is really what makes them stand out. The sneakers are made from premium italian leather and also crafted in Italy. Each sneaker features a the size and individual number on the outside of the sneaker on the back heel. Aloha Rag now received their latest color-ways and with the constant drop of colorful over-designed sneakers, these are just right and actually quite refreshing.
Royal Elastics has now collaborated with Andy Warhol on a pair of slip-ons. They come in a nice color combinations and also carry the iconic Warhol banana on the back. Besides these dope slip on’s the collection features, hoodies, jeans, jackets and t-shirts.These are now available from Barneys NYC.
Here we have something for the true denim lover and experts out there. These Sugarcane 1955 Japanese Selvedge jeans are quite hard to come by. Based after a early-mid 1960′s Levi’s 501 cut which features a slightly slimmer cut than what was out in the 1940′s with a real deadstock Scovill Zipper. The zippers are from the early 1950′s, and when Sugarcane runs out of these zippers they will discontinue production on these jeans. The jeans come in a special edition box that houses the jeans and a reproduction of a New York Times Newspaper from 1955. The jeans come loaded with the works… heavy 14-ounce, double ring-spun selvage denim produced on the original narrow shuttle looms employed back in the 1930’s, including a color and weave matching to the shade of blue utilized in the manufacturing of the original 1955 dungarees with red-line selvedge.
Available now at Self Edge of San Francisco.

This year we have already seen many nice Clarks releases, especially on the Wallabee and the continue to bring out exciting version of their boot. They definitely revamped this classic this year. Chapterworld just received the Wallabee Ballistic Nylon. As the name already tells you, this version of the Wallabee comes partially in ballistic nylon. There is a khaki and a black colorway. The upper of the boot is suede. Very nice combination and definitely a “safe” choice!
In Europe the Barbour wax jackets have been a sales hit since day one and they never really go out of fashion. When its raining , its the right jacket and when its cold as well, because then you just insert the extra fur lining to keep you warm. Now Boxfresh got together with Barbour to bring out a special version of the jacket!
“Boxfresh has joined forces with the legendary outdoor label Barbour to design a one off exclusive ‘Beaufort’ jacket. This exciting collaboration piece has been developed to deliver limited edition product for premium distribution. The jacket will be available exclusively from our Covent Garden store from 20.11.06, then in Size? stores and some other selected premium retailers from early December.
The collaboration between Boxfresh and Barbour is a logical one, with both companies having strong British heritage and a desire to produce quality products. The partnership will be a first, combining the cutting edge street styling of Boxfresh with specialist outdoor designs from Barbour to construct an original garment that will prepare you for anything that the urban outdoors can throw at you.”
Drooghi is one of the first ones to have it available aside from Boxfresh from the Boxfresh flagship store.
Under their Beauty & Youth label, United Arrows has now launched in collaboration with Nintendo a collection of pouches for the DS Lite. The outcome looks really great. When you go around in gaming stores or department stores where you usually find the Nintendo DS Lite and the accessories, you will only come across really ugly, cheap pouches and bags. The collection presented by United Arrows looks as upscale as it can get. Great quality leather with suede on the interior, the style a bit like the signature style of italian leather manufacturer Bottega Veneta. Just nice!
Fafi seems to be a very busy artist these days and has lots of high profile collaboration aligned. This year she will be working with Adidas on a little collection and here we can already show you the Fafi x LeSportSac collabo, that is now available in the Colette online store. They got together for a backpack, a travelbag and also a cosmetic bag. Fafi is a great next step after the TokiDoki collab by LeSportSac.
Oakland’s Air Bar & Lounge, nestled below street level in the Old Oakland Historic District, has drawn consistent crowds since it opened in December 2005. That’s right: Oakland finally has a chic lounge to call its own. The majority of its hipsters are twenty-something professionals (knights in shining Armani, if you will), but open-mike Wednesdays draw poetic types, and Saturdays draw canoodling couples. A brick interior and airy outdoor patio are très Euro, but mod décor (think twin-size beds and walls awash in blue and white) bear similarities to Vegas and New York. As for music? Hope you like DJ-spun sounds of downtempo and deep soul. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (from 5 to 8pm) appetizers are complimentary. Pair them with the bar’s signature Air Lift mojito.
