Micro Gem Headphones by IDEA International

Don’t get us wrong, we simply LOVE our AIAIAI in ear headphones, but sometimes (read when we’re in the gym or on the slopes or on a bike) we just want them with a headband so that they truly stay in place.

When we first saw these brand spanking new headphones from the great guys over at IDEA in Japan, we were sold. Had to have them. Like, right on the spot. Why? Well, because they simply rock:

They weigh nothing – well almost nothing, sound fabulous (rich and juicy lows, crisp highs), look amazing (two spheres and one super thin flexible connector), sit perfectly in the ear and last but not least have a fantastic price.

The beauty is that the spheres sit so effortlessly in the ear and have this great sound and because of the headband they feel like air. They obviously don’t have the noise canceling ability as your average in ear headphones do, but then again, they feel completely different and that’s what we love about them.

Enjoy!

10 Key Calculator by IDEA International

Ok, ok, we get it, calculators are a thing from the past, we all have computers and iPhones and who needs a calculator that can’t do anything else? We do! All the time. And we know a lot of people who need them as well. And what do you get when you try to buy a simple calculator? Some ugly, undesigned piece of plastic that is completely soulless and boring. Remember the great Texas Instruments calculators of the 70’s and 80’s? With magnet strips to save your 'files'? Those were great pieces of design or Dieter Rams iconic calculator for Braun? Perfect, but today's selection is more or less dull and boring. Uninspired, and often times not even that usable.

Well, after all our bickering we better offer you something that really rocks. And we will: Another fantastic piece by Sam Hecht and his studio, this calculator looks exactly like the 10 key pad from an old keyboard, nice big keys, sturdy, great plastic feel, lovely. And guess what, if you hook it up to your computer and Mac, you actually have a 10 key pad as well. Smart, eh? And good looking and unusual and simple and all these other things that are so important, like the size: 3.5“ x 5“ x .75“ or 9 x 13 x 2 cm.

Yes, it’s true; the designers turned 127 cities into vector graphics and used them as a ‘grid’ for the notebook. Needless to say that it’s pretty easy to write on Phoenix and it can be very structured, yet Berlin or Amsterdam, well, that’s a completely different story.

Use it as a massive travel diary for the 127 cities trip that you planned to do anyways, or just as a pretty cool notebook, either way it’s very amazing to see the difference in city structures.

Of course the notebook comes with a city index so you know what you’re writing on and the size is 13 x 21cm or 5.1”x8.6” (closed obviously).

Lubely!

We made quite the splash when we introduced trash bags to C&M. It was an unusual proposition, a trash bag is usually not C&M material, but you loved them, so we decided to bring them back!

They are designed by the creative whizzes at Wieden & Kennedy – whom you might know from their amazing work for Nike – and its premise is simple: Why must trash bags look so, well, trashy? A black plastic bag, a yellow or red tie string and that’s it…

Well, these are altogether different: They are your standard large size trash bag (Bag capacity is approximately 70 liters.), super extra sturdy, come in a box of 12, but it’s the fact that they are printed to look like a bag that contains goldfish that makes them pretty amazing. And every box contains a dozen bags to make your trash collector’s day a bit brighter and your street look a bit nicer on collection day.

Oh, and they are fully recyclable of course, made by epi the leader of oxo-biodegradable plastic additive technology…
