Manufacturer D.L.&Co - Modern Alchemists and Purveyors of Curious Goods - calls this collection “memento mori” a latin phrase that when translated, states “remember that you are mortal”. The term became widely used in the 15th century and became synonymous with the term “carpe diem” or “seize the day”. Both sayings and icons became visual reminders that life on earth is fleeting and one should live every day to its fullest potential. So we do!

Super realistic (creepy, we know) but then again, not really as it’s all black, highest quality wax with a single wick. But to be honest, we don’t think that we’ll ever light ours, it’s just such a discussion piece. It sits on a book shelf, nestled next to other curiosities.

One thing that makes it creepy is the fact that it’s 7“ long, 5.5“ high and 4.5“ wide (18x14x12 cm), giving it a 'real skull feel', but trust us, it’s an amazing looking candle.
