OK, so you've heard of the guy, know he's Austrian and have tried his delicious little chocolate truffles called Mozartkugeln... Well, think again today, because these aren't edible, yet create just the same enchanted feeling. But let's start at the beginning: Mozart – yes the Austrian composer wunderkind – has been slapped on to the yummy truffles that are available in abundance in Salzburg, or pretty much every store in Austria, but unfortunately, he has nothing to do with the rich confectionary. He was a composer after all, not a chocolatier, he just happened to be born in the same city they were invented. Now today's product though is not half as fattening, actually it's not fattening at all and any attempt trying to divulge this little sucker will have you spend time in the nearest ER... Let's cut to the chase: This hand crafted wooden sphere houses an 18 key chime that is forever enclosed inside, but a simple turn of the elegantly shaped key has it unleash its power and suddenly Voi, Che Sapete from Le Nozze Del Figaro (or The Marriage of Figaro) is being broadcast from inside the sphere, using the woods natural resonance enhancing characteristics. Designed by Adam and Harborth in Berlin – we brought you quite a few of their wonderful products over the past 18 months – and manufactured by master craftsmen in southern Germany, the sphere is 3.5" or 9 cm in diameter and comes in natural Beech or Oak, includes the key to make it sing as well as a small ring to hold it in place when not in use.
