Service & Help Shipping

Shipping is one of those topics that can be a pain to understand, that's why we want to explain how we work to make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into.

We mostly ship with UPS and strongly recommend the high end UPS services. Why? Simple: Every box we ship out by their shipping services is fully trackable, so we know what's going on anytime and if it gets lost, we have control over the process. UPS shipments will be delivered very soon to your doorstep and are insured against loss and damage. With a 'postal service shipment' you don't have that level of service and control.

As the UPS rates depend on your exact shipping address and the combination of items in your cart, we cannot indicate the shipping rates prior to the moment you check out your shopping cart. During the checkout the rates for the different UPS service levels will be calculated on weight and dimension of the items you choose and different options will be indicated for your decision BEFORE you finally place your order with us!

In addition and especially for smaller, international and less valuable orders we offer shipments by 'STANDARD POSTAL SERVICE' (via DHL). What does this mean? Your shipment has a longer delivery time until arriving at your shipping destination, tracking your order is possible but the information is limited to basic information and not updated every moment and your shipment has a limited insurance (liability as per the conventions of the Universal Postal Union - max. of EUR 146.20). The rates for the USA, Canada and Asia are as follows:
Weight:
0 - 1.99 kgs 19.90 €
2 - 4.99 kgs 39 €
5 - 9.99 kgs 49 €
10 - 19.99 kgs 69 €
>20 kgs 89 €

We can't ship to PO boxes, sorry, we need a real physical address, as PO boxes often times are too small for our boxes and our logistics partners don't deliver to PO boxes. If you trick our system into a PO box, you can be rest assured it will delay the order process. We need to contact you and get your physical address, it has to be updated and the information sent to our warehouse manually, expect at least one day delay usually two unless we can get a hold of you within the first hour of you placing the order.

Why are your shipping rates so high? They aren't. They are what UPS offers us as rates, we don't add any hidden fees to make a buck of your order in shipping. But we're not Amazon, we don't have their volume in shipping, so our rates are might be higher than i.e. Amazons, naturally.

International shipping adds another layer of complexity as we can't control any local charges that you might incur. All international shipments include a commercial invoice as we are required by law to add that to the shipments. You might need to pay brokerage fees as well as local duties and taxes in your country, but we have no control over such fees and can't quote them either.

Lastly, our packaging: We try to standardize our packaging, it saves us money and you too. But that means that we might have a set of pencils in a box that would hold 50 sets, we simply can't stock a box for every possible product we might have in our warehouse, it is simply not feasible for a company our size.
